How do we all feel about movies that portray Satan as the bad guy? Do you love movies like the Exorcist or the Omen films?

I feel they take it way too far, as they are Christain based most of the time, how they need to be good, pray to their god and what not to make sure they will be alright in the after life. I wonder if there are any movies where Satan is a nice guy, who really is trying to get the good of people to come out, and "god" is being the bad person who is killing people left and right for spite.

I'm told everyday I'm so ignorant because I chose to be a Satanist, that I don't have enough knowledge of other religions to be what I am, Rolling Eyes but what ever, I like to research stuff, but I'm sticking with Satanism, because it has all the ground meanings that I'm looking for. Cool

While I feel that films like Rosemary's Baby & The Omen are little more than exploitation films, The Exorcist is, if completely one-sided, at least very well written (although not a patch on the book). I personally don't feel bad about films that portray Satanism in a negative light as long as they are GOOD Very Happy When you think about it, the Godfather trilogy, Goodfellas, Casino & the other slew of Mafia films only serve to reinforce a negative stereotype of Italian-Americans, but that doesn't stop them from being popular, even - especially - among Italians. There's also prejudice against Christians in Ken Russell's 1971 film 'The Devils' , starring Oliver Reed, Vanesssa Redgrave & Michael Gotthard, which paints the Catholic Church in twenty different shades of black, but I know a lot of Catholics who don't see it as anything more than the cracking good film it is. As for Mel Gibson, don't get me started Evil or Very Mad
